New Take-down recurve by Combretum Bows

Take-down recurve
I had aquired a really nice and heavy block of dark hardekool or iron wood whilst in Mozambique last december. It has been lying around at my place whilst I pondered a use for it.
I recently went to visit my good friend Johan Van Der Merwe from Combretum Bows.He makes traditional bows and I have a few longbows and a normal recurve from him as it is.
I went to shoot an impala with my recurve but whilst there he showed me his new model take-down recurve.WOW!Then it dawned on my why I had bought that block of wood...it was perfect for the riser on the a take-down recurve....so obviously I ordered one immediatley. Here is the the result...perfect with no hand-shock.Johan is a true craftsman and a gentleman of note.

Baie geluk met daardie mooi boog. Ongelooflike handewerk op hom. Die riser lyk bietjie kort - is dit normaal of was jou blok hout net soo lank?
